• How does it Work?

The way Thermage works is simple – A treatment tip containing a computer chip programmed to deliver a certain number of pulses, is attached to the handpiece of the ThermaCool System. The tip is applied to the surface of the skin and on activation, delivers Radiofrequency (RF) waves, heating the deepeer layers of the skin (dermis), while the superficial layers are cooled and protected with cryogen gas.
 
The monopolar nature of the RF ensures that adequate and uniform heat collects at the correct depth. This heat causes a 3-dimensional contraction of the dermal collagen, tightening, smoothing and contouring the skin onto the underlying structures.
 
Any stretched or damaged collagen is remodelled and a new cycle of collagen production is stimulated. Effects are usually both immediately visible and continue to improve for up to six months after the treatment. After this time the effects tend to stabilise.
